HELLO!
This is officially my first blog entry! WOO HOO!
I've titled it set in stone because I've made a major life decision and stuck with it! My choice to join the Peace Corps is a reality for me now, and is set in stone. For those of you that have watched me grow over the years you can understand why this is a major deal for me. I am what many of you have called free spirited and a mover and a shaker. The truth is....I am, and always have been a moving target for life. Always trying something new and far from the ordinary.
If you are reading this then that means you have helped me in some way or served a valuable purpose on my life path. While each of you are special to me, I would like to give a special THANK YOU and I LOVE YOU to Ms. Glenda Denise Cephas, also known as Mommy! She is my everything and without her I would not have been able to experience life to the fullest. She has given me the opportunity to go places and do things that she was unable to do. She has always taught me to be strong and resilient and for that I am grateful.
I welcome each of you to follow me as I blog and share my experience as a Peace Corps Volunteer with you. In return I ask that you share your daily experiences with me by responding or just shooting me an email.
I will be living in a village outside of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. My job as a volunteer will be to work with groups of women and young girls teaching empowerment and HIV/Aids awareness.
If you have any questions or anything that you would like to know while I'm in Tanzania, please ask. What's the weather like there, what do they wear, what do they eat, are there lions and tigers and bears....anything I would be happy to send you pictures and share my thoughts of the environment and anything else that may be of interest to you.
